Okay, enough of that.

Hi. My name is Gerard, in case that wasn't too obvious. I'm a journalism student at MacEwan University, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, North America, Earth (that's a distinction for the future, for when Elon takes us to Mars). As you can see from this homepage, I'm big on pseudo-professionalism; if you read what I write, just know that my objective will always be to inform, but also have a little fun along the way. It's not that I don't take things seriously, I've just seen other people go far beyond the extreme in that regard. There are only so many "X world leader tweeted this" articles before a guy snaps, ya know? Imagine if a Vice article was a real person, and you have something close to me.

Besides that, some of my interests include music playing, a specific brand of Japanese pen, and wanting to cover my head in a a paper bag at the thought of the Edmonton Oilers trying to play hockey. Whenever I can, I try to compound these interests with the most ridiculous thing I can think of at that given moment. Cover an upright bass in RGB lights for a school Christmas concert? Check. Try to apply communication concepts with Matthew McConaughey's Lincoln ads? You betcha.

Now, you can explore this entire website and view all that I have to offer, but I tried to make the homepage get you up to speed as best I could. Everything you see on this page, from the header photo to the videos and blog posts below, was captured/written/curated by me. The header photo has some of my biggest passions, those being Muse, writing, reading, film, wasting money on the Oilers, and the bass (slappa da bass, mon). Oh yeah, I make an obnoxious amount of movie references, too. Probably should get that out of the way.

Moving down the page, you'll see my videos I've uploaded to YouTube. Spoiler: they're all concert videos. Beyond that, I've carefully selected some of my favourite songs for you to enjoy snippets of unless you have a Spotify account, and while there are some core selections that always remain there are a few rotations now and again. To the right, my Instagram feed. Double spoiler: that's mostly concert stuff too. Finally, at the very bottom, some of my sample writing. Right now it's a lot of angry venting about the Oilers, but who knows, there might be a gem or two in there. Anyways, better wrap this up.
